In 1956-57 I had earned a Novice class Amateur Radio operator’s license and had been issued the radio station call sign of KN8PYE while living in Saginaw, Michigan.

54 years later, finding out there no longer was a morse code send/receive requirement at 13 words a minute, I passed my General Class Amateur Radio Operator exam.

A year after that, I passed the Extra Class exam. About time!
